Foods for Your Life is based on Julia Hidy’s personal experiences, her private consulting practice, and two decades of research. She hopes her insights will help readers looking for recipes that are as tasty as they are healing.
Julia has used many of these recipes and ideas to improve her energy levels, health and her quality of life. She believes that educating and sharing ideas about how to use food to heal will be a key to unlocking and having a greater quality of life as we all age.

Julia’s Bio
Julia first experimented with combining products from health food stores with gourmet ingredients and recipes in the mid-1980′s when she felt arthritis settle into her hands and feet. Her dietary changes proved to her that the foods she ate (or avoided) could keep gout and arthritis from attacking her joints.
When Julia was diagnosed with three Chronic Fatigue Syndrome viruses and Fibromyalgia in 1992, three M.D.’s told her she’d never get her normal energy levels back. She already knew the healing power of foods, herbs and spices and her dietary changes helped her return to a ‘normal,’ productive life.
Then, Julia was told she would have to have major surgery and chemotherapy to treat a rare, deadly form of cancer. Six doctors at three hospitals told her if she didn’t have the surgery that she’d be dead in two years. She decided to “keep her parts” and not have the surgery. That was in 2003. Her natural healing approach included diet. Within three months, her MRI came back clear. She’s never looked back!
